What a Summer!! What will Fall bring?

Although summer has passed, we are still deeply committed to sharing the name of Jesus with the nations. God had been working mightily among us, and this includes:

  • A good number of students are going on mission trips, assisted by BMDF scholarships (19 to date, with two new applications received just a few days ago).
  • BMDF members covering the globe by serving on healthcare trips.
  • BMDF representation at several major mission events (CMDA; BNF; GMHC, Global Commission Dental Meeting; Med Advance, a Medical Mission One Day Event in Tyler, TX, a meeting with University officials through the Consortium of Global Education; plus we have been allowed to have a booth at one state convention (Illinois) and the Annual Pastor’s conference in Alabama. If you are attending any of the upcoming events listed above, please stop by and say hello.
  • Two BMDF members have published recently, and you can find their books on Amazon:
  • John Witt has two publications that you might find helpful as devotional material. Many of us have used “Beautiful Feet for the Gospel,” which John put out severalmyears ago. We also send this devotional book to our new scholarship recipients as they prepare for their upcoming mission trips.
  • John’s newest book is “Wrestling with God Through Doubt and Deconstruction: Forty Days of Engaging the Bible Before Your Faith Crumbles.”
  • Mark Randall has just released a new book, a story about his Dad, a medical Missionary who served in Zimbabwe for 30 years. The title is “The Most Wanted Man in Zimbabwe.”  Mark also has several other books, which he shared with us at our Annual meeting in Birmingham.

Prayer Needs:

Bob and Bev have moved into their new home in Nesbit, MS. We decided it was time to downsize, and the Lord provided a buyer for our old home and this new home in a 55+ neighborhood. We would also ask that you pray for my wife, Bev, as she is experiencing severe back and neck pain, has been diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in the cervical spine, and is being scheduled in the near future for an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion as soon as we can get her pre-op clearances.

Pray for Randy Oliver and the team of 21 who will be heading to Cusco, Peru, on October 14 for our BMDF-sponsored Mission Trip. If you didn’t volunteer this year, set aside some time in October 2026 as we continue to work with Your Mission Matters.

Pray for new members and donors. BMDF has been in business for 48 years. Financially, we are ok currently, but we are living off the generosity of those who have been donors/members in the past. Please join us in praying for new members and those interested in supporting the ministries of BMDF. Join us in being proactive about sharing BMDF with others and inviting them to join us.

Continue to pray for the Christian Medical Association of Ukraine. We have just received their quarterly report for the period of June to August of this year. They were able to hold 16 clinics and see 546 patients. These clinics always provide Christian psychologists/counselors and pastors who help Ukrainians deal with the current war in their country.

Pray for upcoming opportunities to serve. Check out our Global Volunteer Opportunities on the BMDF website. I’m working on updating the opportunities this week.

In closing, please know that each of you are in our prayers.

If you have time, can you please drop me a line and let me know if you have been on a mission trip this year and where. Also if there were other BMDF members on the trip with you.

Have a great Fall.
Bob
