Who We Are
The Baptist Medical Dental Fellowship was founded in 1977.
What began as a group of physicians and dentists getting together to discuss their experiences in doing short-term healthcare mission projects and long-term careers in service to Christ, resulted in BMDF – an organization of physicians and dentists with the initial mission statement, “Responding to God’s call through healthcare.”
Baptist Medical Dental Fellowship now welcomes all categories of licensed healthcare professionals, as well as any who share an interest in our values and objectives. We have a focus on service, mentorship, and fellowship. BMDF ministers through Christian medical and dental mission projects and disaster relief projects in the United States and around the world.

We also provide support for long-term healthcare missionaries, grants for students and residents going on short term healthcare mission projects, and a growing mentorship program for healthcare professional students. We seek to be a fellowship of likeminded healthcare professionals, and we have worked to establish valuable relationships with other Medical Dental Fellowships in multiple countries.
Our Statement of Faith
We believe:
In the divine inspiration, integrity, and complete authority of the Bible as the Word of God.
In the unique Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ who was and is fully God and fully man.
In the substitutionary sacrificial death of Jesus Christ as the necessary atonement for sins.
In the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.
In the resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting judgment on the lost.
In the commandment of Jesus to His followers, “to make disciples of all nations,” to establish New Testament churches, and cooperate with all believers in fulfilling His Great Commission.
Our Vision Statement keeps us focused as we move into the future:
Inspire healthcare professionals to use their gifts to serve others as good managers of the varied grace of God. (1 Peter 4:10)
Our Mission Statement sums up our primary goal:
Changing lives through healthcare to the glory of God.
Our Objectives highlight six pillars of the organization:

For decades, BMDF has had volunteers participating in short-term medical mission endeavors both in the U.S. and around the world.
We have partnered with ministries in Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Belarus, Romania, and Ukraine (just to name a few!).
We have also partnered with hospitals, clinics, and ministries in a variety of diverse settings, including Baptist Medical Centre in Ghana, Bangalore Baptist Hospital in India, Alpha and Omega Clinic in Haiti, Wallace Memorial Hospital in South Korea, South Texas Children’s Home in the Dominican Republic, and Buckner International.
Our members have joined with local churches to begin free healthcare clinics in multiple states, including Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri.
As we move further into the twenty-first century, our goal is to be a vehicle for service, mentorship, and fellowship among like-minded healthcare professionals and students.
